Which one is actually cheaper.

A shelf hands you two numbers that cannot be compared: 340 g for one price and 1.2 kg for another. Unit pricing exists to fix that and is often missing, printed too small to read, or given in different units on the two labels you are holding. Put them in here instead.

How this works

Everything is converted to grams, millilitres or items and then divided by the price. A pound is exactly 453.59237 grams and a US fluid ounce exactly 29.5735295625 millilitres, so the conversion is not the source of any error. The imperial fluid ounce is a different quantity again, and it is offered separately rather than guessed at.

Weight and volume are not compared with each other. If you put a kilogram next to a litre this will say so rather than divide one by the other and hand you a confident wrong answer.
